J.R. Spies has been a Loan Officer in Durango, CO for 13 years. He proudly helps to put people in homes with his incredible customer service.  He  also spent 6 years in Commercial Real Estate in the big city of Atlanta GA.  He understands the business!   Our customers rave about J.R.'s wisdom, his suggestions and his trustworthiness.  He was recently nominated for National Broker of the Year by the National Association of Mortgage Brokers.

JR graduated from the University of Arkansas with his business degree in 1985.  JR also holds a Masters of Divinity and continues his education in the Mortgage Industry.  He has lived in Cleveland Ohio, Dallas Texas, Fayetteville Arkansas, Vail Colorado, Boston Massachusetts, Atlanta Georgia, Tulsa Oklahoma, Phoenix Arizona and of course his home from here on out Durango Colorado.

JR has been married for almost 20 years to his business partner Miki and they have two gorgeous children.  JR's hobbies are Skiing/Boarding, Mountain Biking, Boating, Camping, Hockey, Softball, Pick up Football and Coaching Kids.

JR is very commitment to community service.  He coaches kids in football and baseball, has volunteered in the local juvenile detention center cheering on troubled kids and says YES to non profits like Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers Big Sisters.  J.R. is simply a great guy to do business with and after the process is over you will probably call him your friend. Call J.R. to handle your loan!
